This will be a 300 mile review and comparision to my 2017 zx14r. which as the ECU reflashed, Hindle slip-0ns. Dynoed @ 189. Also has a centerstand, and MRA st shield
POWER
It has plenty of power for street use, not in the same league as the 14, guessing about 70 HP differance, but I knew that going in. The 1000 makes its power around 6000 rpm, which is equal to about 4,000 on the 14, Also the gearing is way lower on the 1,000 70 MPH @ 5 grand, the 14, 4 grand
Handling this is where the 1000 wins. the actual weight diffance is about 70 Lbs, but feels more like 100
Comfert, again the 14 is clearly the winner, the 1000 starts get a slight buzz around 5,000 rpm, once youhit 8,0000 rpmor higher it is annoying, However, you onlyfeelit in the seat, the bars and pegs are fine, the mirrors are fin until 8,000 grand hits, so the easy solution is to get a better seat, Which Kaw. makes, a gel seat,backorder till futher notice, which means maybe next year
Wind protection, again a slight advantage to the 14, the 1000 comes with a 4-way adj. shield, problem is the shield go away from you instead of up

Quick shift, very nice upward wide open shifts without clutch of letting off on the gas
Three differant modes SPOT ROAD RAIN, have no idea what the differance is so I keep it in SPORT
